Help! Dumb guy question...

I have a '03 Highway 1 Telecaster and I want to raise the neck pickup. Other than removing the pickguard which seems like a pain in the arse, how do I do this? I'm thinking this will give me some more bite. Help. Thanks.

Re: Help! Dumb guy question...

There should be three adjustment screws within the steel bridge plate, assuming it has the standard Tele bridge plate. Turning them should raise and lower the height.

No question is dumb, other than the one not asked

Re: Help! Dumb guy question...

My bad; I thought it said bridge pickup. Gotta pull the guard if it's the neck.

Sorry for the quick response.

I looked at a photo of one. I dont know what to tell ya other than open it up and load a Screw mounted Duncan '54 to that guard in it's place. :cool2:

Re: Help! Dumb guy question...

Sounds like you will have to remove the pickguard and you will see a screw at the top and bottom of the pickup and, I think, one on the side. It's not a big deal at all to take the pickguard off.

Re: Help! Dumb guy question...

at least with a tele guard you should not have to take the strings off to remove it

Re: Help! Dumb guy question...

If its a bother buy a pickguard with screw holes for pickups (I know Warmoth make them)
