Help for Carvin TL60T

Hello as I am setting here in Iraq I have a lot of time to think about my guitars. My questions are humbucker or trembucker for a wilkinson trem. Also I noticed the trembuckers have 3 mounting holes in the tab compaired to one in the humbuckers which would work with my carvin rings. So what has every one else done about the rings did you drill a middle hole on the top of the ring for the screw or buy new rings if so what rings fit. I would like to go with a jb/jazz setup I just want something differant sounding from my AE185 which also has c22's in it Thanks Oh also will a trembucker work in the neck position

Glad you have alot of time on your hands! That's probably safer than the alternative and I'm happy you are safe and well. We all pray you'll ALL be home again soon.

I'd go with standard spacing for the Jazz neck and Trembucker spacing with the JB bridge. But the mounting rings are going to be a problem. The JB is slightly wider than your old pickups and may not fit easily into your old mounting ring.

I think if it was me I'd buy a new set of rings so both will match and then sand or file the inside of the ring to be used for the JB so the pickup will fit into it.

All the best!

Hey mang .. first I hope you are safe and sound over there.

second .. I'm thinking the wilk trem has a 2 1/8th inch string space'n .. same as floyd is memory serves me .. so you may want to go w/ the trembucker ..

as for 3 mounting holes? I've always gotten ones with the same 2 hole pattern as all SD pups have ... but yes .. you can simply drill a hole in the bezil to match the p'up mounting format.

Good luck .. stay safe! ~G

Go with a trembucker at the bridge, and drill a mounting hole in your existing rings. It's hard to find replacement rings for Carvins. I have two DC127's and I had to do the same, along with filing the inside of the rings to fit trembuckers. :burnout:
