Help I feel stupid!!

I can't for the life of me find or put together a schematic for what I want to do. I have 2 p-90's with 2 tone, 2 volume and no 3 way switch. I want to have the bridge one on a switch that does in phase, and out of phase and it will be a DPDT center off switch. I also want the neck and bridge to have a series/parallel switch and I would like the neck to have an on off switch or something like that where I can shut it off. There will be no 3 way switch and if possible I'd like independant volume and tone controls when possible. I understand how they work individually but I can't seem to put them all together. I'm so frustrated and tearing my hair out!! Thanks for your help!

Re: Help I feel stupid!!

Looking at a Duncan diagram for Phasing, it says that with a DPDT on/off/on switch you get in and out on the ons, but doesn't say what the off gives you. I'm assuming off.

If that's the case, you're already there on that part.

But, are you wanting 3 switches (one for the bridge phase/off/inverse, one for both pickups that does series/parallel, and a third for the neck pickup)?

This diagram shows Series/Split/Parallel (center Off = off, not Split) and phasing using 2 switches.

I don't think you're going to get that with just one switch to handle both the phasing and the series/parallel. Since the phase switch and series/parallel switch will have to run to the volume & tone for that pickup, you can't jump the neck pickup to the series/parallel switch on that "side". You'll need 2 push pulls - one for each pickup - to handle the phasing and a DPDT on each pickup to do the other stuff.

Or just get 4 push/pulls and omit the mini-toggles.

Re: Help I feel stupid!!

I was thinking along the lines of an on/off or on/on toggle for the neck pickup, on/off/on toggle for the bridge which will do the in phase, off, out of phase, and a push pull pot for the series/parallel switching. Not sure if that will work.

Re: Help I feel stupid!!

This should do it. You would just use two on/off/on switches which act as phase reversal. This would allow for various combination's of series/parallel and off.

Actually, that'll work just fine.

However, are you wanting to run both pickups in Series/Parallel with each other or by themselves?

If you've got 2 Volume/2Tone, you can do a push/pull for each pickup and wire it up for the Series/Parallel thing.

However, if you want the two pickups doing the S/P together with each other at the same time, you would probably need to run the red of one pickup to one side of the push/pull switch and the white of the other to the other side of the switch.

However, this might interfere with the neck pickup's splitting switch. Maybe not, since center is off on the 3-way mini.

Wire the Phasing and the Splitting switches according to the diagrams, and wire the S/P switch with the red of the neck and the white of the bridge, rather than from the same pickup as the diagram suggests.

The Outputs from the switches would go the their respective pots (the bridge volume would have 2 running into it - one from the Phaser and one from the S/P), then from the pots to the jack.
