i need some history on squier guitars. only from maybe 85-90? i have a squier strat that i know nothing about. all i know is that it was made in the u.s.a. i was thinking of any history might help me learn more about it. oh and i know its from around that time period. I'd assume that the number on the neckplate would be the serial # if that will help let me know and i'll check it and post it. tell me something about it! thanks!

I would be very interested in the serial number. Any other details would also be most welcome :)

yup usa.... if i can find a digital camera i'll snap u a photo... it says on the headstock after the logo. the serial # is 00238 the only other stuff i know about it is that my dad said he got around 85-87 brand new and everthing in it is original... hope that helps

Hmm....I thought those were made in Japan, although I'm certainly no expert on those guitars.

There was another thread about late 80's USA Squiers... Someone did post a photo of one before.... They do exsist..... I have an early 94 MIM Squire... Like the USA ones in the late 80's i hear they had to move production around because of changing contracts with factories overseas.... So some in the late 80's are USA but rare, and some in the 94-95 are from Mexico...
