Help JB and Jazz get muddy when rolling volume back.

Hey I have a PRS CU22(trem 5 way) that I just put in a JB and Jazz combo in. The pups are a bit bright at full volume but as soon as I roll the volume back to about 8-7 they bleed the treble off way too much. Any ideas?

Yes. Search out "treble bleed" and you'll find several different options of cheap caps, sometimes cap/resistor networks that will allow the highs to pass through the volume knob as you turn down. Too high of a value, and the volume becomes a sharp bass rolloff from 10 to 7. Too little, and you haven't solved your problem.

I find that it interacts poorly with your tone knob, because if you've lowered the bass as you turn the volume down, then you lower the tone knob, you can be left with a weak, midrangey sound. For that I have a mod that will completely remedy this. So let me know if you use your tone knob a lot, or not at all, etc.

I use the tone and volume all the time.
