*help* knobs 80ies Strat

I am servicing a friends guitar and don't get those knobs off easily.
Due to i don't want to risk damaging it - are those knurled shafts, or
should i try to get that glued-on rubber wraps off (screw behind?)?

it's not the same guitar, but similar, just googled this pic ...

you cant reach under the knobs? get a piece of cardboard (make sure its big enough to do the following perfectly) and put it over the knob, then get a wrench and use it to pull on it.

I got these from harbor freight
the bottom middle one is a "bent nose" set that removes knobs like nobody's business
the others come in handy too

Use a rag...slip it under the knob and gently pull up.

Fender elite strat...no screws under the rubber insert.

I learned the rag trick from this gentleman when I worked a clinic with him doing free setups on Fenders.....amazing tech.

I've the best thing is a cloth or even a thick string (nylon not a guitar string) so as not to scratch the surface.

I heard a trick of putting the cloth down to protect the finish then using two spoons. Place the edges of the spoons under the knob and press down on the handles, pivoting on the bowl of the spoon. Pops right off.
