Re: help! looking for good metal pickups!

i'm not getting pissed at you at all.

what's the most you could afford for an amp? it's hard to recomend one without knowing how much you're able to fork over

Re: help! looking for good metal pickups!

lets see... got 260 now, which was origally goin towards an EMG set... umm 10 bucks a week, 150 for my bday in oct... so by then...maybe 600 - 650? but is an amp the best way to go?

Bro, Screw the pickups for right now and screw a pedal for right now. You need a killer amp setup first. With a less than good amp you might as not worry about the other things yet. A good amp will by far make the most difference.
Yes it will, I was playing an epiphone lp junior through a marshall TSL the other day (dual 12s) and it sounded awesome. A good amp/distortion circuit will definetely make your day, if you get a sick guitar with a crappy amp it'll sound terrrrrrrrrrible.

I was also playing the AVT20 and it sounded pretty good although I didn't try the 7 string on it so I don't know whether its extension is good or not. Anyway I'd suggest picking up a good amp over new pickups at the moment.

Wait...is this the JS30RR?? I think those pickups are a litte bass-less so know that when picking out your other stuff, don't get an amp that makes them have lotsa bass because when you upgrade the bass will be overwhelming...although I haven't played a JS30 in a while.

Re: help! looking for good metal pickups!

got the same doubt as well.
to buy a better higher gain amp and ditch the classic 50 4x10 combo and get a dual rectifier, rather than changing pickups on my cort m700,
or choosing the cheaper path and just replacing em with hotrodded ones.
but which ones........
