alright, so i'm about to go grab something to eat so i'll try to put as much info here as i can really quickly.
i have a swamp ash floyded super strat that's getting a dimarzio air norton bridge humbucker, dimarzio virtual solo, and a neck pickup yet to be named. today i came to the realization that the neck pickup on my telecaster was pretty much all i played with when i had it. so why not put one of those in?!
my worry is that most tele neck pickups are low output, and it might not match well with my "hotter" pickups. the air norton isn't really hot by any means, but compared to the Area T neck pickup i was looking at it might as well be an EMG. but how much will that matter once ON the guitar (and not on paper)? tele neck pickups have always been loud to my ear, but that could be because i had nothing to compare it to...
TLDR: ANYWAY enough rambling. i'd like some input on two things.
1. will a tele neck pickup be able to keep up with the other pickups i have picked out? would adjusting height in the pickups be all i'd need to balance them?
2. any good suggestions for hotter tele neck pickups that might be able to keep up? i'm not so pressed over what brand it is, but i'd like to keep it around the $60 range (or so).
the guitar is routed for an HSS pickup configuration, so a neck humbucker is out. thanks for any help guys!
