Guitar is a rear route strat with all rosewood neck (not just the fretboard, but the whole neck meaning there's a slight increase midrange)

Music style is ambience clean tones, alternative music ( radiohead, muse, coldplay) and blues and hard rock ( porcupine tree, gnr, srv, hendrix)
No metal music played.

Does not need to follow the tone exactly, just suitable for the music :D

Amp is blackheart little giant 1x12 for bedroom
Fender deluxe reverb and vox ac30 for studio and gigs

Going through(not in order) ,volume pedal, compressor, mxr carbon copy delay, mi audio crunch box for distortion, mi audio blues pro for OD and a jim dunlop 535q wah pedal.

Bridge pickup is a budz bridge p90. Looking for a suitable neck AND mid p90s for a nice 3 p90s strat.

Bridge is a wilkinson vsvg.

Any suggestion will be appreciated!!

Thanks alot!!!

Re: help me choose p90s pickup for a strat

If budz makes pickups properly calibrated for their respective mounting positions, two budz neck pos P90s ought to do the job.

NOTE: For hum-cancelling in selector switch postions 2 and 4, you will need to invert the two magnets inside whichever P90 you install nearest to the neck.

I have an American PRS EGII modified with PRS HFS, Artist Treble and Artist Bass humbuckers. Even with no coil taps, this guitar can sound suprisingly Stratty. Your project should do too.

Would like to get a budz pickup too, but they don't have one for sale where I am now. So seymour duncan would be a good choice as its readily available.

I suggest the SP90-1n Vintage model for the neck position.

The obvious suggestion for the centre position is the SP90-1b but, if you prefer to set the centre PU low, you might need a hotter pickup, such as the SP90-3n.

So far the ones available are.

-Duncan antiquities
-duncan vintage sp90-1
-Gibson original p90

Re: help me choose p90s pickup for a strat

None of those pickups have enough output for the middle IMO.

Do you like the budz P90?

If I had the choice I would go Bridge-Bridge-Neck. In a Strat, I might go with Duncans but if the rosewood neck really adds some warmth to the tone I would say go with Gibson.

I usually like the SD P90s in brighter or more balanced guitars and Gibson P90s in darker guitars.
