i,ve got a 2008 jap tokai love rocks, love the guitar but want to upgrade the pick ups. i want seymour duncans but am overwhelmed by the amount of choice on offer! i play a variety of styles but am playing alot of blues, blues/rock and classic rock at the moment. i,m looking for something that will give me a powerful clean tone and that will overdrive without becoming muddy. no metal distortions needed just that classic "crunch" tone that i have in my head. want to replace both bridge and neck. any advice greatly appreciated -cheers dave sowden

I'm guessing people will suggest a Jazz or 59. Sweet looking guitar! 2008 model? Are they still making those guitars?

Re: help me choose pickups please!!!!!!

Sounds like you're going for a PAF tone - I'd look at a '59 or APH2 for the bridge.

I know you're only looking for SD pickups but Gibson's '57 Classics are great for what you're looking for - just another option. (I'm assuming the tokai is a mahogany body).

+1 '57 Classics
