006 blackjack or c-1 blackjack!

both seems to have the same everything, neck/body material, 24 extra jumbo frets. only difference is the body shape. which would you choose? (comfort, fret access etc etc)

im gearing towards the 006 due the less generic body shape :fing2:

Re: help me choose! (schecter content)

How bout I throw ya for a loop and say go with the 007? But anyways... I love schecter, good choice on the schecter. If you have the money go for a bernie rico jr. Bernie is the son of the founder of B.C. Rich guitars. He's a world famous luthier. I can see why you would choose schecter over BC now a days... cuz bc has gone to pot as soon as bernie jr sold the company after his dad's passing. If you're looking for a "less generic body" you HAVE to look at http://www.ricojrguitars.com I own the red 7 string sinister w/ Maltese Cross inlay that you can see in the product picture page. But I cannot rant enough about bernie's work. They're all completely hand made by bernie and his team and he sign's the back of the headstock. you can find rico at several retailers, but I recommend drumcityguitarland.com to purchase one premade and axegrinder.com to purchase a custom one.

tonewise are they alike? are there differences in the body mass? sadly i cant test them locally, but i heard rave reviews about schecters. Its gonna replace my ibanez sabre( guess im not much of a floyd user).

Re: help me choose! (schecter content)

Tone, playability, features, and value are all equal.

Go with whatever shape you like best.

Re: help me choose! (schecter content)

I've played many 006's, mostly my uncle's and it is very nice! so i say 006 all the way!

Re: help me choose! (schecter content)

00 series guitars just feel better to me, imo. The C series is great but the 00 walks over them for me plus they don't look cliche and overused.

ditto

Re: help me choose! (schecter content)

anyone has info on the neck types of each? from one i heard the c-1 style has a quite a slim and thin neck, slightly wider than ibanez wizards. what about the 006?

i would like to get something similar to my sabre's wizard 2 neck.

Re: help me choose! (schecter content)

my 006 has a very thick neck and a 1 11/16 inch nut. I absolutely love the neck. When I say thick I dont mean BOAT shaped, I mean thick given the fact it is a korean made guitar.

I've got an Ibanez right here and I'm looking at that neck compared to the schecter and the schecter makes it look like a toy... NEVER heard of a schecter neck being slightly wider than a wizard, everyone I've played has been larger. If you like the wizard, It'll take a bit of adjusting to a real neck :) just kidding./

My vote is for the 006. I have one, like the body shape better, it's a bit more balanced to me, but most importantly the cutaway is more forgiving than a C-1's in my opinion. Maybe it's a psychological thing because the right arm doesnt extend as far out from the body as a C-1, but I've never felt better ease playing up by the 24th fret. MY 006 has been my #1 for over a year and a half, and I'm pretty happy with it. One day I may have schecter build me a custom one... or two... after I hit the lottery and get my inheritance from the rich grandpa's brother's nephew who I never knew I had.

Re: help me choose! (schecter content)

yours is the the terry corso model right? what about the regular 006 elites/blackjacks? well i dont mind thick necks but i already have a sg and a les paul with me, would like a thinner neck/ longer scale length for a change heh.

Every blackjack model I've played was amazing. The blackjacks are very well put together instruments right out of the box... TRUE player's guitars! They're good enough to be someone's #1 axe, and cheap enough to actually gig with it. To be honest, the Terry Corso model is basically a 006 with a flame maple veneer.

I did some searching a few weeks ago and I thought I remembered finding numbers that basically correlated the C series and 006 series instruments to have the same neck dimensions and specs. Scale length is 25.5", like a strat, which would be a change from the les paul's 24.75" that you have, so that's a plus. Also the 00's and C's have 24 frets in place of the 22 on a les paul. I think the lowestr version of the 00 series (deluxe I want to say but im not sure off hand... its the kind offered in "vampire red satin") have basswood bodies and a bolt-on neck. I'd stay away from those not because they're bad guitars, but because for a couple hundred more you can have a set neck, mahagony body 006.

Either way, you cant go wrong with a schecter C series of 006 series instrument. I think you'll be pretty happy.:bigthumb:

Re: help me choose! (schecter content)

Personally, I like the shape of the C1 over the 006... however, it looks like the 5 way switch is closer to the strings on the C1 - which may be important if you tend to thrash around and accidentally hit the switch. Just a thought.

Re: help me choose! (schecter content)

sounds good, already ordered a 006 blackjack, will be reaching by this friday :bigthumb: thanks for the help.
