Help me choose strat pickup SSS

Hey.. What's up mafolks.. I have a MIM strat with SSS config all 250k pots and I like it enough unplugged but not plugged. currently it has stock neck and middle and duncan hot bridge. I hate them all. the neck lack output and too sterile I set neck and bridge until it nearly kiss the strings when the last fret is pressed(I think I'll like a bridge pup on neck) mid is alright (I want it to be lacking in output) but both are staggered and I think I prefer flat while the bridge don't have the single coil sound. So I was looking to change all three pickups and when I look at the pickups list there are many pickups type I dont understand (and don't know how they sound) like stack, singlesizehum, lipstick. I like to play blues rock (Hendrix, Clapton, Green) and rock and roll. and use neck pickup mostly and I don't like the bridge to be too bright (like buddy guy bright). And the wiring will be 1 vol, tone for bridge, tone for neck and middle and pickup selector for neck alone, bridge alone, bridge and mid parallel, middle and neck series, middle and neck parallel.

That's all and good day!

Sounds like you might like SSL-2's, APS-2's, or SSL-52's (Alnico V, II, and V/II, respectively).

Your wiring circuit sounds like fun. It requires a Superswitch.

Buddy Guy had a phase of using Gold Lace Sensors with an active mid boost - just like a Clapton signature Stratocaster. It is possible to achieve similar sounds with the Silver sensors unboosted. Silver sensors are hotter than the Gold model and with a juicier midrange. For extra spank, try a Light Blue sensor in the bridge position.

Re: Help me choose strat pickup SSS

the neck and middle probably sound so weak because the bridge is so powerful, so when you eq your amp for that, the other two pale into insignificance. Look at a calibrated set and life will be much better for you.
If you don't like your bridge pickup to be too bright, make sure you wire up your 5 way so the tone for the middle also governs the bridge. See how you go with a regular style strat 3 pickup wiring scheme for a few weeks before you do any fancy parallel/series modifications.

Thx for the input..

@gibson175 : I'll try regular strat pickup switching if you remove that pic from your sig lol. that's an abomination
