Help me decide between these 2 styles

Wow, looks like it's overwhelmingly #2. I initially liked #1 the classic Marshall look because he basically makes hot-rodded Marshall tones but I'm now leaning toward #2 (or a variation of it) for the reasons some of you stated - a more modern look. Plus the cab will be black with Cane basketweave grill and white piping so I think #2 will be a good match.
BTW, I put this up here because my wife was no help at all. I knew you guys would come through for me.

However, the Splawns that look the coolest, IMO, are the ones with a figured maple front panel. They're probably a bit more expensive though.

#2 would be my choice. Although #1 is cool too. For some reason, the one with the figured maple doesn't look right.
Are you going with black tolex or some other color? I've always lusted after red Marshalls...
From all the clips I've heard of Splawns, they kick serious butt. Post clips when you score it.

Ha, I've already paid a 50% deposit and ordered one but I'm gonna call tomorrow and see if it's not too late to change the design. I don't think it will be a problem because I'm still about 6 weeks from build date.

Yeah, there are other colors to choose from but maybe it's my age - I like the classic look of black and gold. I have seen pics of red ones and they are nice.
BTW the one GJ posted is Tony Rombola's (Godsmack)

Good choice. #2 is definitely the cooler looking option just because it doesn't look like an old Marshall.
