Help me decide on a new graphic design...

[JB_From_Hell]

The guitar is an ESP/Ltd M100, dark blue metallic finish. I've already made it a satin finish, and sanded a very thin faux-binding stripe around the edge of the body.

But I'm not finished... so what do you think, spider web pattern (covering the top) or tiger stripe, ala George Lynch's ESP? If I choose spider web, I'll sand the "web" exposing the wood, leaving the blue for the background. If tiger, the wood will be the stripes, like the black on George's axe. The blue on my guitar will be like the yellow on his.

If you vote "Better idea" please give a detailed explanation.

I voted for Tiger Stripes, but actually I think something along the lines of the Mona Lisa would be cool. Stripes, Webs, it's been done. Think bigger!!! Maybe a Degas!

And there is alway the Jackson Pollock method, if you're not that good with a brush. You just lay your guitar on the floor and dribble paint all over it.

I'm serious about the Pollock thing. Like a Splatter-Caster, only without the spinning. And yours would be totally unique. Some of Pollock's stuff is amazing. I can stare at it for hours. I've considered doing it myself. I've also considered doing an oil painting on a guitar body, but probably not the Mona Lisa.

Tiger striping's cool, if you go with the thick stripes, like on a Burst or M1 tiger, not that thin Bengal striping you see on Jacksons. I always thought the thick tiger striping looked a little like buble bee stripes, however ...
Spider web is cool, too.

Why not put Trogdor the Burninator on your guitar?! THAT would look cool!!

I agree with SKH, its all been done before. I'd try and think of a better idea.. Like... well, I think this guitar has probs one of the most awesome graphics ever!!

Its original and AMAZINGLY well done... its titled "Bad Moon Rising"

Check out www.gmwguitars.com (click custom paint jobs) for some very cool graphpics. They might be a little tough to do yourself though. I really dig the sphinx graphic on that guitar on their frontpage, whoooaaa!
