help me find a good bass amp please?!

hi, i play electric bass in a band and trying to find a good amp. i'm looking for a combo thats not too big, just wanna have a good clear sound. Ashdown MAG C115-300 Combo is one that looks good to me. would ashdown b a good amp in general or is there maybe better stuff to go for thats not too expensive. can afford to spend up to $800, so if u agree or have any other ideas please let me know. thanks very much

I just picked up a used Ashdown MAG 300 and I love it! I have it paired with a vintage SVT cab and for a 300 watt solid state amp it rocks the house.

I am not an authority on bass stuff by any means, but I just love the sound of SWR they just have the TONE !!! Really, I think they are the brown tone of bass.

Check out Carvin. I use a B800 head, and it is very nice, for a decent price. They have some combos built around that head which would fall within your budget.

There's so much more that delivers so much more than SWR these days. Don't get me wrong- My SWR amps sound tits- just there's better amps and better amps for the money and better companies that will actually stand behind their products than SWR.

I've played the GK 2x10 combos and they smoke. I also liked the newer 400w Fender Bassman combos in both 2x10 and 2x15.

Don't go Behringer.
