I`ve purchased another Strat and I wanna find a single coil for the neck . I`m gonna use a JB in the bridge , 250k single vol. pot (no tone, no middle pickup). I play heavy overdriven rock , blues and some clean stuff!

I'd go with a hotter strat pickup, like a Custom Staggered or maybe even a QP for strat.

vintage rails definitely!

get's that single coil tone with no hum, great tone!!!

hot rails

you'll want a little extra oomph for balance

it is still plenty clean, but has guts when needed

good luck

APS-2...those are pretty strong and still have great tone. Maybe a SSL-4 or 7 Quarter Pounder?

I don't think there is a true single coil Strat pickup with vintage Strat tone that won't get overpowered by a super hot pickup like the JB.

I'd start with the APS-2.

And I'd use a '59TB instead of the JB.

I dig the JB in my ash Strat...the hot rails neck does a great job of balancing with the JB in the bridge position. It's a very usable neck pickup as well, if you do a lot of soloing up there.

I think I'm gonna try a quarter pounder though, as I'm GAS'ing for a single coil tone from the neck position...guess I'm just a Strat guy at heart.

I had a strat with a JB bridge and a hot stack in the neck position, and the balance was OK. The hot stack is very sweet in the neck of a strat or tele. It has a little more midrange than some other single coils.
The QP has more power, if you don't mind the noise.
The hot rails is a powerful humbucker in a single coil size.
