Help me find the right 2x12 cabinet

I am at a loss of what cab I need. I am a bass player, but I've been building a guitar rig to have at home. Amp head wise, I'm using a Black HT-5 Metal. Currently I am borrowing my brothers custom-built 4x12 with Eminence Legends in it. It is a solid cab, but it's too big for me, an doesnt have enough "umph" to the guitar tone. It's not punchy at all. I am wanting a 2x12 with some balls to it, but also good breakup for a high-gain amp like that HT-5. Definitely something more modern voiced that is full sounding.

I was thinking a Mesa Recto 2x12 may be good if I can find one used. I'm trying to get it around $350-$400.

The Legend is a whole series of Eminence speakers. A lot of people think it's just one speaker but it's not, it's a whole series just like the Red Coat series. Finding out what he has in his cab might help you move in a different direction.

It doesnt say anything on the speaker other than Legend. How can I tell? I'm not even sure what wattage they are.

Go to Carvin amplifiers
Look for their 2x12 convertible cabinet
Send them $299+ shipping

When it arrives , come back and thank.me

v30 upgrade for $90 or not?

That really depends on how much you want to spend. The V30s are better speakers than Carvin's stock ones, but are they $90 better in your opinion?

Also consider whether you've found a cab that has enough "umph" with your HT-5. The reason I bring this up is that a punchy sound (particularly in the low end) requires headroom which a 5W amp doesn't have much to spare. If you're not into the fundamental tone of your amp, no amount of speaker swapping will fix it. If there is a cab that you like, try looking for a 2x12 loaded with the same speaker or consider buying an empty cab and loading it yourself.

I currently use an Ear Candy Buzzbomb 2x12 loaded with Eminence Wizards, but I also have an Egnater ported 1x12 loaded with an Eminence Private Jack, and a late 70s Marshall 4x12 loaded with blackback G12H30s. I used to gig with the Marshall, but it's just too d*** heavy to cart all over the place. I replaced it (mostly) with the Buzzbomb and chose the Wizards because they're supposed to sound like H30s, but handle 75W. I don't really miss the 4x12 since the 2x12 sounds just as good, records easier, and weighs half as much. I play through these cabs with an Egnater Tweaker 15 and a Marshall Jubilee 2555, and while both amps sound good the Tweaker just can't match the Jubilee's punch.
