Help me I.D. a neck please

Hey guys, I'm looking into building my own guitar (as a lot of you suggested when I asked for help finding a new one) and I found a neck on my local cl I really like, but I've never seen one quite like it. Can you guys give me a little info on it? The seller says classic 60s but I've never seen one with Abalone inlays. Any help would be nice, thank you! Classic 60's MIM Strat Neck

I don't know much about the Classic 60's MIM but when building your own kit guitar from parts it's important to pick parts you like. If you really love that neck, give it a chance. The abalone inlays look nice. The last time I sold a MIM Strat neck was around 2008 or so and I was able to fetch about $130 for it on ebay, just some FYI on perceived market value.

The body I have is very flashy, i attached a photo. I think the abalone inlays will really help keep the flashy look of it. I have a backup I could buy for 90 (standard mim) but I just want to make sure this one is legit before I drop money for it uploadfromtaptalk1424617053348.jpguploadfromtaptalk1424617066162.jpguploadfromtaptalk1424617081294.jpg

That body is nice! The abalone inlays will definitely go well with it!

Well, maybe somebody can help you out with the Classic 60's MIM legit question but one thing I can tell you is it could be a legit Fender neck as it has a Fender stamp on the heel which most MIM necks do not even have. I am not sure on that though as I have not owned a Fender guitar in a few years now.

I'm really curious about where the abalone inlays came from. I've just never seen one before. Thanks for the link!

No problemo.

I almost thought it was one of the OOOOOOOLD '62RI necks, like what Fender used to sell back when I worked at GC in '01/'02, but I think the heel stamp was different back then.
