i bid on a black edwards les paul a week ago...and now i've had several things come up and i'm actually in the hole!!! (long story) things have suddenly become amazingly tight and i'm not going to be able to buy it...my max bid is $378.75 and i am not going to have it...i didn't know this until about 15 minutes ago!!! only 11 hours left, over at 9 o'clock tonight!!! why does this stuff happen to me!?!?!

who wants an Edwards LP?!?!?!?! :smack:

it doesn't bother me that i'll have a negative rating with e-bay(which isn't good), but that this guy will think he's sold his guitar and i won't be able to pay him... :yell:

Dang Hoss . . . If I could, I'd bail ya out. You know, you can retract a bid on eBay. There's a form where you get to explain why you did it. Drop an email to the seller also. I would think that most people would understand financial crisis. Then, the next bidder will get it.

Hoss, You can cancel your own bid if you choose to. Most sellers will not fight it. I guess that's what I'd do: CANCEL the bid. You won't open yourself up for negative feedback that way...you'll just get a note on your feedback profile that you cancelled a bid. You can't do that to many times but once in a great while is OK. i've e-mailed him and explained what's going on, and asked him to cancel my bid...hopefully he'll see the message soon!? i can't retract in the last 12 hours of the auction!!!!!!!!! and the real bad thing is i'm the only bidder!!

hopefully someone will just outbid me in the last hour!?

this almost happened to me before, I bid on a guitar and another one came up that was sweeter and the owner lived down the street from me but then someone outbid me and I won the other auction, hopefully someone will outbid you.

$380 for a nice Paul like that is a great deal. How much are those new, Hoss?
How much was his BIN price before it disappeared? Thicker neck? Hmm. If you get into a pinch, and no one else want's it, I'll consider it. I teach guitar lessons to a few guys that could maybe take it off my hands after I play it for a week, and raid it's pickups. Ha

I would be interested also Hoss but like Drew I have other things to spend my next paycheck on. Like paying off my car! I would do it if I knew for sure I was doing a residential internship at my church hence I wouldn't need a car. Cause man that is a NICE LP abd I love LPs!
