Okay, let's have a bit of fun and help me at the same time. Last Saturday was very difficult for me. I have a new Highway 1 Tele in honey blode and a maple fretboard. It came with a white/black/white, 8-hole pickguard. I spent the better part of Saturday trying all my different pickguards and pickup configs. Heck, I even got my family involved. Now, I'm asking your opinions. Here are some Kisekae Teles I have designed. Which one do you like the best and why?

All I could post was 5. I'll post the other two designs in the next post.

Re: Help Me Out Here...

Of those, I prefer the 4th, (Hwy1 BS2), the best just because of the added versatility of three pups. Of course, if it was mine, I'd go the extra step of making the bridge a 'bucker. HSS has become my favorite config. ;)

Re: Help Me Out Here...

What about Nashville with black pickups in the neck and middle on a tortoise shell guard?

Re: Help Me Out Here...

Stock Highway oneconfiguration is my first choice, or something with tortoise.

BTW, what happened to the mini humbucker, Butch?

Well, after playing it quite a bit, I was missing the cool spank of a Tele or Strat pickup in the neck. The minis are bright, but they're a bit too fat for my current tastes. I still have it mounted in another pickguard.

Re: Help Me Out Here...

I'd do the last one, but with a covered neck pickup. But out of the ones there, the Second from last one, TNC. Versatile, with a kinda hot rodded look.

TORTOISE & CREAM ALL THE WAY!!! :32: :32: :32:

Re: Help Me Out Here...

So far, I have to agree with Bob Zombie. There's something about a Nocaster. Even the 52 Reissues, with their butterscotch finish, don't rate as high, with me, as the Nocasters with their vintage blode finishes and black guards...

Re: Help Me Out Here...

2nd one. something just looks wrong to me when teles have 3 pickups

Re: Help Me Out Here...

What I would do is, Just keep the tele pickups and just install the tortise pickguard. I dont much like the middle pickup. Or my second choice is, the same thing with a white pearloid pickguard.

Re: Help Me Out Here...

the second one looks the best but I think the third one would sound the best. If you could get the look of the second one with the sound of the third that would be the ideal guitar.

Re: Help Me Out Here...

Hey, Butch.

TNB gets my vote. I would long for the added versatility of the three p'up configuration and I like the look of the tortoise shell. The contrast of the black against the blonde is just too stark for me.

+1

I LOVE that look! Tortoise is so classy looking, especially with that color Tele. The white and cream pups keep a rich look, but at the same time give it a hotrodded edginess.... just awesome.

Re: Help Me Out Here...

For me, the second or the last option in the list.
I´d prefer the black pickguard thing but you have already something like hat, don´t you?(Avatar)
So, go for the tortoise & cream like PUCKBOY99 :)
