Help me pick out an amp

I`m downsizing my amp and cabinet due to family issues and the fact that I just sit in the house and play. I`m looking for a small combo amp that has decent cleans and also takes Distortion/OD pedals for some hard rock grind and also some gritty blues. Some amps that come to mind are the Fender Blues Jr. , Traynor YCV20WR , Peavey Classic 30. I know the Traynor comes with a Greenback and I`ve seen the other two used with Celestions. Any help is greatly appreciated!

getcha a Blues Jr. and send it to Trace at Voodoo....he basically turns it into a plexi-ish/marshall 18 watt amp

Then you'll just need a goose. I've been thinking hard about doing the same exact thing.

Traynor YC50B or whatever that blue EL34 based one is. Maybe an attenuator to go with it.

I tried that amp Dead Skin. I know I`m in the minority but that amp didn`t do much for me.

Yup..the amp itself will be fine for blues, classic rock, etc...then just boost it with an Guv'nor, TS, duncan pup booster , etc...for harder rock.

What do you know about these mods that Voodoo does to the Blues Jr? I`ve heard mostly good things about Trace and Voodoo amps.

I'm a big fan of the Peavey Delta Blues 2x10. that'd be my choice.

What do you know about these mods that Voodoo does to the Blues Jr? I`ve heard mostly good things about Trace and Voodoo amps.

I've never actully heard his blues Jr. conversion, but have heard plenty of his other amps (both mods, and his own designs,) and the fellow knows what he's doing He just recently started advertising that blues jr. mod actually.

Thanks Jeff, I played stock Blues Jr. today and it sounded pretty good with a Tonbone Hot British. So I`m leaning towards the Blues Jr but the only thing that irks me is why did Fender mount the control face so when your looking at it from the front of the amp it`s upside down. Peavey has done the same thing with the Classic 20 & 30 WTF!
