Re: help me with SWEEPING
It took me ages to figure it out and learn how to sweep right... now I over use it... :fingersx: ... and I still practice.
My tips:
1. Never give up even if it doesn't work at first.
2. Start slowly. you'll be able to learn new sweeps faster in a while but you need to hit every note when you sweeps. No dead notes, ever.
3. practice on two strings, 3 strings, same pattern, up and down. Then move to 6 strings, changing patterns etc.
4. Major chords with an added 7 is the easiest thing you can sweep on 6 strings.
5. Don't limit yourself to chords- I sweep on the pentatonic scale and the major scales (or any othe modus)... It also need practice but it's easier to build a melody with it in your solo.
6. Once you can sweep play it with songs... timing is everything and it is not easy. A metronome just isn't helpful enough.
7. Listen to good sweepers- Gambale, Kotzen, YJM... feel is more important then spped in any technique.
8. Some people advice to mute the strings with your right hand- it's more about the pressure and controling them... I didn't practice these way too much but it's a good method.
