Help! new output jack?

I recently installed new pickups on my guitar, then I plugged it in... nothing. If i wiggle the cord around in the output jack I can produce a crackleing noise, but no real sound. I am sure that the jack is wired securely, but the real question is: is that my problem? any advice appreciated

If you have enough lead length, hold the input jack outside the guitar, and see if it works. Make sure it's soldered good, and the correct polarity. If it works outside the guitar, but not inside, it's possible that you need to twist the jack around, so it's free from contact with anything.
