Help Please

Re: Help Please

Had good look around the website. Maybe a good idea to have a go at one of the kits as a practice run. They have a PRS kit for under $150 at the moment. I imagine the hardware wouldn't be much chop at that price but at least if I **** it up it's not the end of the world. When I was a player the guitarist in our band had a real PRS at about $5000.00 then. Made my P bass look pretty ****ing ordinary.

Their blanks aren't anywhere near what I thought the would cost. I bought some Sapele iron on veneer last week for a job that cost me well over $70.00 for a sheet 2400 long. None of their blanks are over $200.00.

I don't know how buying a kit will help you with a body build. The kits are pretty much do a finish on them, slap parts on and set them up. You could do the same thing with your sg for much less.

I liked your sons idea of getting a good neck and then making a body for it. :headbang:

And yeah the body blanks are fair priced especially the single piece ones.

That's our plan at the moment. The necks are pretty well priced if they're any good as well. We just need to agree on a design and we'll go for it when he's finished Uni for the year. I'm a little confused as to why he wants such a beast. He's the frontman/rhythm guitarist in a Ska band in Sydney and this will take his collection to 8 guitars, none of them are what I would call a headbangers guitar, maybe with exception of the 7 string Jackson.
