First of all i play a strat. so ya i found this cover of rock superstar, i dont know who dose it but i love the low marshall tone. now i know what amp i need obviosely but what pups would go best in a fmt strat to get the same general tone,i was thinking of a Alnico-2-Pro hum in the neck and emg-85 in the bridge with a EMG-PA-2 on the A2P so i could boost its output when playing on both pups. Any better ideas.

o ya to specify im speaking more of the chords than the solo part of the tone.

I think a '59n would get closer to that tone. It wouldn't take much work to get that tone I don't think. It sounds to me like a neck p'up + an amp running in the red. My favorite Bridge EMG was the old EMG 58. It's an 81 with an A5 magnet and the reason they stopped making them is because they couldn't get them to thier noiseless standards. It was the best EMG I'd ever heard. If that's the tone you want all the way around a pair of '59s should do it. Your amp is going play a big role also.

what do u mean an amp in the red, just totally overdriven?

That's kinda what I thought. Turn the master and Gain knob levels up equally to desired volume and then start moving the gain up for more distortion then flip to your neck pickup or try neck and middle. Of course there may be certain adjustments like pickup height and amp eq but I think it's do-able with a Marshall amp and about any 2 HBucker guitar. What's the band and the guitar player's name?
