Help! TS-9!

Hi guys!

the crazy rain out here in California bid me an unfortunate welcome this morning. When I went to my garage, I found my tubescreamer in 1/2 inch of water. I immediately opened the thing up and (while water dripped out) saw that there was much cleaning and drying to do. In drying the beastie out, I found that the red lead wire from the battery came undone. Can someone please tell me where that wire is supposed to be connected? Also, has anyone had experience with waterlogged equipment? Is there any hope that when this thing is dry and rewired it will work again?

If you let it dry out for a week or two it should be fine.

I dont know what to tell you about the wire though, sorry.

if you hold the board, looking at the component side, with the "notches" on the bottom, the red wire goes to the second hole on the right at the bottom, next to a black wire

it's labeled "RD" or something like that

thanks bunches curly! I was able to get that wire to hook up no problem. I think that the switch needs a while to dry out. the thing will not turn off! since the switch is buried under that foam battery pad, I'm not surprised that it is still wet in there. I'll give it a few days and then see what the verdict is. Robert Keeley has already emailed me condolences and told me that if I can't get it back in running order he'll repair it for $5 towards the return shipping! Nice guy.

cool

those switches are notoriously intermittent

I suppose it's better stuck "on" than stuck "off", but hopefully, it will dry out OK

you might be able to apply some air, and even a little heat if you happen to have a blow dryer.
