Help w/new strat pickups

I have a fairly new American Standard Strat. I'm in a cover band and alternate between my Gibson es335 and the strat. I love the strat sound and need it to sound like a strat. But I'm looking for a little more punch. Suggestions?

1) welcome
2) check the tonechart of duncan
3) maybe you can try the tone wizard?

Re: Help w/new strat pickups

There's a few differant ways to go.

The Duncan Antiquity sets both feature a hot custom bridge pickup that approahes 10K...much stronger than the original 6K to 6.5K pickups that came in 50's and 60's Strats. Personally, I'd go with one of those sets: Antiquity Texas Hots or Antiquity Surfers. I have a set of each in two of my favorite Strats. The Surfers are brighter with more bass and treble...the Texas Hots are not as bright and have amazing pronounced plucky mids. I especially love the Texas Hot Custom bridge pickup in that set and have a mixed set with Surfer neck and middle and Texas Hot Custom bridge in a third Strat.

The Antiquitys are my favorite Duncan Strat pickups.

You could also go with APS-1 neck and middle and Twangbanger bridge pickup. This set will will sound smooher, fuller, chunkier and have more output than a vintage Strat too. I use this set in a fourth Strat of mine that I also love.
