Help With Case.

Ok, I just got a B.C. Rich *drool*. It's great, but what also makes it great creates a problem. Seing as how it is such a pointy guitar I didn't feel like breaking one of the points off so I bought a hardshell case. Here's the problem; B.C. Rich's have large headstocks and when I put it in the case it doesn't rest in the neck cradle, it is held up by the points of the headstock. If I fold up a tee shirt and put that over the neck cradle then it doesn't rest on the headstock anymore, but now the body isn't laying flat in the case. Will the padding on the lid of the case that keeps the neck in place going to damage the neck from too much pressure?

Woo, that was a lot. I'll try to summarize. The guitar doesn't sit right in the case. When I take the stress off the headstock, the guitar no longer lays flat. Is that bad, is it going to put too much stress on the neck?

Any suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks so much for any help.

Quite possibly...yes. Especially if the case/guitar takes a solid direct hit to the neck and/or neck cradle area...it might crack the neck.

You'll have to dig around & come up with a case that your canoe paddle fits into properly.

Best,

...and consider yourself chastised for getting a guitar without a proper case or at least a gig bag. :chairshot

Gotta have a good case for a pointy guitar!

Dang it...

I thought it fit when i was at guitar center. Argh! That case cost $140 and that was after the dept. Manager knocked $60 off. Dang, looks like ill just have to get a bass or coffin case. Well super hoo ah case, looks like youll just have to wait until I get a guitar that fits you... In like 2 years. *tears of anger*

Dissing my pointy guitar? It has feelings you know. I called guitar center and they said theyd take it back, woot! Umm, ya. I just decided, screw the case. Ill just take my old guitar around in a gig bag. My new ones getting DiMarzios. Sound over mobility. Thanks for the chastisement everyone :)
