Help with downtune pedal needed !!

I play in metalcore/deathcore with 12 guitarists in it (me included) and we're experimenting with lower tunings. We play in Drop C (CGCFAD) but would wanna try songs in Drop A, neither of us have a spare guitar that this can be functionally done to so...

Is there any guitar pedal that has two line and line out ports that can downtune the notes ?

(Basically like the Morpheus DropTune with two line in/out ports)

Thanks :)

omg that was supposed to be 2 !!!! not 12 lmao ! i need to ins and outs so i can use the pedal for two amps and guitars

Re: Help with downtune pedal needed !!

not gonna help live LOL i understand i could have it processed so its lower...i need an actual pedal though

Re: Help with downtune pedal needed !!

do you all need to be tuned that low? Are all 12 of you playing in unison or something? Why don't you arrange the guitar parts more like a string orchestra with different complementary parts for instruments of different ranges?
fwiw Drop C is really just the same low range as cellos.....
drop A is only 3 steps lower, then its a fourth down to low e which is the domain of the bass guitar or double bass.
It seems that using 12 guitars and the option of both low and standard tunings gives you an opportunity to either make some massive and powerful orchestration, or simply a boneheaded chugfest and wall of inarticulate mush. What kind of parts have you got worked out?

Heh... Now I want to scare up a dozen g-men to form a metal orchestra! We could call ourselves "Zombie Horde." Or maybe "Head Shot." Who's with me?

Re: Help with downtune pedal needed !!

i reckon it needs more than one bass too....
plus two kit drummers
and a set of timpanis :)

Just right off the top of my head, I would recommend the Behringer AB200 switch and your choice of droptune or octave pedal. Its the perfect switch for your application. There might be a little toe dance going on if you try this in the middle of a song, but for switching up between songs, easy! And its usually less than $40 bucks. See the third example in the manual below, instead of just crossing over in/out 1 to in/out 2 you would insert the effects pedal there.

Re: Help with downtune pedal needed !!

why don't you just get two morpheus drop tunes?

Re: Help with downtune pedal needed !!

If you mean you're wanting to use the pedal for both guitarists at the same time, I doubt anyone makes that.

If you mean you're wanting to run a stereo signal for two amps for yourself and not worry about unplugging your guitar between sets, just buy a stereo something else (chorus, delay, etc) and stick it after the droptune and just switch guitars between sets.

Re: Help with downtune pedal needed !!

So you'll join 'Horde, then?

On second thought, if it's offensive, that makes it an even better name. H.S. Rulz!

Re: Help with downtune pedal needed !!

Its 2 guitarists not 12..i pressed the 1 accidentally, i corrected myself on a post above.

Thanks Briggleman, thats the kind of idea i need !! :)

We wanna try Drop A for different music styles such as deathcore, ect

Two Morpheus DT's would be very expensive, which is why im trying to get a pedal for two guitars, or some sort of thing that can split the DT's signal into two amps, and recieve signals from 2 guitars.

Re: Help with downtune pedal needed !!

lmfao we have 3 guitar parts, and two guitars, you can come up with 9 more for us lmao !

Re: Help with downtune pedal needed !!

Some amazing harmony parts.....like a massive chord over a couple of octaves all played with 1 guitar per note. In the lower registers this would sound brutal.
