Hello everyone!
I'll cut right to the chase.
I decided to mod an old and much loved Yamaha Pacifica. I'd installed just a single humbucker, single volume and that was that, but, having sold my strat, I want to have a guitar that can kinda-sorta replicate the strat... "thing". Queue the modworthy pacifica.
Rummaging through the parts bin, I found an old epi humbucker I converted from two to four conductor and a single coil from the mid position of an old Ibanez to compliment the duncan designed detonator (I think, the invader knockoff).
To go with that, I have an old blade 5-way, a LP 3-way and some pots, most 500k, one or two 250k.
What I'd LOVE to (be able to) do -but can't- with these existing parts: Have the LP switch function as series/parallel/split, but that's impossible, as it can only function as a series/split or parallel/split, from what little I know.
Apart from that, you guys come in. Should I wire two 500k pots for each humbucker as spin-a-splits and forget about parallel (which I do really like but find it sounds quite similar to split) or forget about series altogether and just use the LP switch to have parallel/split?
And would it be possible to have the LP 3-way as a master parallel/split for both humbuckers?
If not, I suppose the only way would be to have a pot for a spin-a-split and use the LP 3-way for parallel split.
Obviously, the middle SC I'll just leave as is.
Many, many thanks in advance!
