Help with Lambda and condenser

I got the MXL set for 50 bucks, brand new. Neither of them pick up much of anything if I'm using the lambda with phantom power on. I thought these were super sensitive?

Yo Space !

I like it, everything I record is with it. But I do run anything I record through a tube preamp emulator to warm it up. Preamp's are nice, just kinda cold compared to what I can get with the VST emulator on with it. Zero bugs whatsoever too by the way!

Easy to use? Do you use CubeBase with it ? if you dont mind, what are your PC's specs? I never did any homerecording ever and I am on a really small budget now, this would be my first step. How were the mics that came with it ? Thanks

DUnno anything about mics with it. I'm running a P4 at 2.8 ghs with 2 gigs of ram. I use Nuendo 3. It's a very good starter. Keep in mind it uses 2 1/4 in. outs for the speakers, so you'll need a lot of adaptors, or studio speakers.

Re: Help with Lambda and condenser

Hmm, so I guess my pentium III at 863 mhz and 512 megs of ram is jut not gonna pull it off ... ?

Re: Help with Lambda and condenser

Erm... I wouldn't even considering running a DAW machine on a PIII - sorry. Just couldn't get latency settings low enough to be workable for me.

My current machine is an AMD 5600+ (2.8Ghz Dual Core) processor with 2GB of RAM, and I'll be upgrading the processor and adding another stick or two of RAM before I go off to college. You don't need that much power, by any means, to record, but it really, really, really helps a lot.

Re: Help with Lambda and condenser

I have the Lambda, but I have not got to fiddle with it that much yet, unfortunately...
