man-in-moon New member May 15, 2005 #1 i'm putting a new nut on my tele and am not sure what size to get i'm used to either being something like 1 11/16" or 1 5/8" but on fenders website it says the nut width is 1.6875" so which one would that be?

Zerberus Baron Von Shred May 15, 2005 #2 Re: help with nut widths This clearly belongs in the guitar shop But I´ll still give you a quick Math refresher: 1/16" = 1 divided by 16, in decimals 0,0625 1" = 16/16", no math necessary... but the fraction: .6875 , divided by 0,0625, equals 11
