Help with pickup selection!!!

Time for some new pickups in my Ibanez SZ720fm. Need some help figuring out what to put in there. The guitar is mahogany with flame maple top. I'm looking for passive pickups. I play mostly metal and hard rock. Looking for a Alice in Chains - We Die Young sound. Mostly interested in a bridge pickup only since I rarely use the neck. I'm playing through a 6505+ with a 1960a 4X12. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Re: Help with pickup selection!!!

I have an Ibanez SZ520 and Seymour Duncan Distortions sound killer in the bridge

I would have said a JB (Jeff Beck) would do what you want. It's got all the Rawk and roll you'd need, lots of character, without pushing the amp too hard. It turns out that Cantrell uses them in his main guitars too - "- G&L Rampage - with Kahler tremolo and Seymour Duncan Jeff Beck pickups (his main guitars)

Just saw that page also. Thanks guys! Looks like I'll try a JB.

Re: Help with pickup selection!!!

Jerry does use the jb in his rampages but they are alder bodied guitars, I think for those kind of tones out of mahogony you may want to try a distortion set;

Jerry also uses the Afawyu by Motor City Pickups in the bridge of some of his Rampages, Wade is a really cool cat!
