Help with pots for LP

I'm looking for 500K OHM linear tapered pots. It seems to be desirable to have linear tapered pots at least for the tone knobs. The problem with the audio taper pots is that they really don't have a fine enough taper to be suitable as a tone control device.

As far as the vol controls are concerned, even the original audio tapered pots in the 57 Les Paul had a 60:40 ratio. Todays pots are log pots w/ a ratio of 80:20. That's not a finely grained control at all. For that reason some advocate using 500k linear pot for both vol and tone controls to provide the smoothness needed.

I'm having problem finding suitable pots. At least on the internet. For a carved top Gibson/Epi Les Paul I assume that you need long shafted pots. I can only find those in 300K OHM linear pots. The 500K audio tapered, long shafted pots are much more available it seems. There are far less options for linear taper out there.

These are my minimum requirements:

2 long shafted, 500k OHM, linear tapered pots
2 long shafted, 500k OHM, audio tapered pots

Because of the audio tapered pots having a crappy taper ratio, my ideal would be:

4 long shafted, 500k OHM, linear tapered pots

Does anyone want to recommend any sites? If I can get away with shorter shafts on the pots then please let me know.
