Help with screw height

I just put a set of slash sig pickups in my les paul archtop and the height adjustment screws seem a bit short, especially on the neck pickup. Anyone know the standard screw length to install pickups on these archtops with slightly taller mounting rings?

Which screws? Pickup ring screws? Pickup height adjustment screws? Polepiece screws?

Re: Help with screw height

When I run into that problem I just take one to Sears and match it up with a longer one, .49 cents later I'm good to go!

Re: Help with screw height

Yeah I may do that, I just wanted to make things a bit easier by knowing the length typically used for screws with tall mount rings.

Re: Help with screw height

I have a Dremel with a cut off wheel so if it is ever too long I cut it down, hack saw would get the job done to.

Re: Help with screw height

I'm a bit confused. Did you buy the pickups used? The stock screws should be long enough - aren't Les Paul Standards (like Slash's) all arch tops?

Re: Help with screw height

Yeah he plays an arch top.
Don't new pickups come with two different sets of screws?

Yes the set was bought used on ebay. The screws included are likely metric and def not meant for the SD pickups. I bought a proline mount ring set that had screws that fit the hole properly, but when I lower the neck pickup to just about the mount ring the screw comes out of the hole (ie not long enough).

Re: Help with screw height

I think they come in one inch and one and a quarter inches at most guitar parts places.

Re: Help with screw height

hmm, i'll have to measure mine when I get home to see if I have the inch or the 1 1/4. Hopefully home depot will have some similar.

Re: Help with screw height

Try a local music shop, or you can get them from most guitar parts retailers online.

Re: Help with screw height

Ok, I measured my screws and they are only 1". That's a relief because I know I can get te 1 1/4 " screws and they should fit. Thanks guys.
