Help With the EVH 50W. Head

Re: Help With the EVH 50W. Head

Too compicated... for a very overpriced chinese or vietnamese amp.

Just get Peavey version for durability or Bugera to save a bunch of dough.

If you want the lower wattage, just pull a power tube pair. Easy.

I'm asking about this Head + I dont care where it was made , it sounds as good as my other 2 bigger amps

Kind of confused about what you are asking here. Anyways, the black logo plate is not factory. What are the other questions?

That top one looks like someone blackened it, I don't think Fender released any official stock versions that look like that.

Version wise I don't think there's a ton of difference until you get to the latest version where you now have two main splits. The earlier models with the shared channel 1 gain/vol/EQ and the new version with the separate channel 1 and channel 2 gain/volume/EQ. There might be slight variations in the early models with the shared channel 1/2 but I don't recall reading about anything significant.

EVH is not made in China, its Made in Mexico. These are fairly reasonable on the used market and i definitely recommend/want the EL34 version.

<-- That is Exactly what I was wondering and how to I dentify the Factory upgraded ones

Just spoke to Fender and the Upgraded Versions ~ Predom. White + Predominately Black ( Gold + Black = EL34 ) have Stacked Concentric pots for the Gain/Volume which I didn't know or see . He also has owned both and prefers the EL34 Cranked up for the Top end Tones that He said are fuller . I played the EL34 version few weeks ago ( the 6L6 a couple yrs ago) and it did hold up very well Crankin' and the decision part will be harder now ~ between the 2 tube Configs

Naw , Decided I Have to stay with 6L6 for Tighter Punch ~ in the Dual Pot Config
