hello, I am new to the forum. I would certainly appreciate your help with my problem.
I have a hamer with a 59 in the neck and JB in the bridge... one volume, two tones, 3way switch.
a few months ago I reversed the magnet in the 59neck to get that peter green sound...
today I upgraded the pots and the neck tone pot 500k is not right... when toggle is on neck pup only.
the tone adjusts as it should, however when the neck pup tone pot (by itself)is dimed to "10" , the volume decreases dramatically. not quite whispering in church, but not too far off.
if I back the neck pot off to about 9, it comes roaring back... I tried three different pots (all alpha brand A500K) with a .022 cap. all same results???
the JB bridge is just fine, like a good 500k should do (the magnet is Not reversed in the JB)
both pups sound fantastic with the JB on 10, and the 59 on 9.
I appreciate any help, understanding, suggestions, advice, or good will that you can send my way.
