I have an old yamaha pacifica from a few years back, which hasnt been used much recently. About a year ago i took the scratchplate off, with a view to have a look inside and maybe replace the stock p/us. I never actually bought any- too many other considerations
. Anyway, the guitar got left, with the scratchplate off, just resting on the body, and still secured by the groundwire and the main output wire.
After a while someone knocked the guitar over (damn kids! :banghead: ) and these broke. Yesterday i soldered everything back up just as it was, it seemed like a pretty simple job. However, when i try to plug it in there is no sound at all. And here is teh really weird part - it buzzes like crazy, but when i toucch the strings or any other metal object on the guitar, the buzzing cuts out.
I havnt done anyhting with it yet - id rather not die for the sake of a guitar, and esp. a pacifica...
So what can I do? Any ideas about what has happened? Like i say, everyhting is as it should be.
i wonder if i messed the pots up with the soldering iron or soemthnig like that?
