this is driving me nuts. my favorite amp is my peavey classic 20, with jjs and a fender bassman speaker (the speaker was $20. on ebay - go figure) -- it's 15 watts, with master volume, and there's just something about the thick bluesy tone i get that i just love and makes me play better -- fantastic sustain on my strats -- BUT IT ISN'T LOUD ENOUGH! -- so what to do? would an extension cab (2x10) help? (one wierd thing about this amp is that the extension speaker out line turns off the internal speaker, so when you plug in an extension you're basically using the amp as a head) -- i wouldn't mind getting a new amp if i could get the same sound, only with more available power -- what would work for that, do you think -- a 2x10 mesa? what about one of those 18-watt marshalls. :yell: ARGHHHHHH.............

Re: help!

Crank it! How load do you play it? Does it have a 10 inch internal speaker? !2 inch will help you some. Get 2X12 to spread out your sound more.

Re: help!

I use an 18 watt amp and it's plenty loud enough! I think maybe just moving more air may be your issue not so much as volume is. My first suggestion is always to get everyone else in the band to turn down. IF that doesn't work, more speakers may be in order. I think you should be able to do it though with your current rig. I used to gig and rehearse with a Blues Jr. and never had a problem with volume.

Re: help!

Push more air. Get a 2x12 cab. Many small amps sound fantastic through a cab. I have no experience with this one though.

Re: help!

ok -- good answers -- can i have some suggestions about what two 12" speakers? either two the same or mix and match -- actually i'm pretty interested in putting two different but complimentary speakers together for a really good sound, so any suggestions gratefully received ...:smokin: .

Re: help!

Celestion G12H 30 watts. It will push better with a small wattage amp. It has Good bass and low mids with "syrupy" highs. THick but will cut through. I love it. I mix mine with a vintage 30 (60 watts). But my amp is 50 watts.
