Here is something for you TS lovers

Re: Here is something for you TS lovers

Thats a cool pedal. I guess if needed to have every Tubescreamer and overdrive in a box it'd work for you.

EDIT: I'm not sure if it's just me but I seem to be the one who always starts second pages whenever I post lol.

Way overpriced. I could build one out of a TS9 for 70 bucks tops. That's a high estimate too. Haha

maybe john (stratdeluxer) can make us one or two?

I don't know... I can see how the frequency switch wouldn't be too hard, and maybe the ts-9/ts-808/"mo brown" mod switch can be relatively easy, depending on the mods... but I know a switch to swithc between not one or two but three different opamps... well it's not impossible, but time consuming and I'm SURE its not easy to do with the stock TS-9 board. That's gotta be time consuming.

I can't tell what the leftmost chip is on the selector switch, but I would have expected it to be a Burr Brown but I think it's starting with TA.... 300+ is pretty steep!

The "brown mod" only changes 2 resistors, if I recall correctly, so that is easy. The op-amp switching circuit isn't difficult. I would just get a breadboard and locate the 3 op-amps onto it, hook the op amps up to 3t switch (probably a 8p3t rotary switch, which are pretty expensive at $20) and hook the switch up to the spot where the original IC used to be. Cake. Hahaha

For that price, I could have 3 different normal, modded and custom screamers and switch between 'em. Or chain them in series. Or use one as a booster to drive two in parallel. Or.......

325 bucks for a footswitch that will crap out in 7 days?? :laugh2:

My thoughts exactly! Dummies could have at least put a good stomp switch in the box...

I don't think it's impossible to switch between the opamp inputs. Have all the opamps live and working at the same time, but switch the input between the three and the other two will be silent as the one with the signal is working it's magic... Should be a pretty simple mod really. Gives me some ideas for what I want to do to mine.

Re: Here is something for you TS lovers

Everytime I see this pedal I think that the amount of work to turn it from stock to this creation is probably more work than building it from scratch with a custom PC board and a better, 3PDT stompswitch
