Re: heres a question for the Hot Rails Pickup

I've got a Hot Rails in the neck of my Charvel 650xl which is a Soloist clone. It gives out some of the best shred metal lead tones I've heard this side of a Distoriton neck pickup.

Re: heres a question for the Hot Rails Pickup

Most guitars use the same size of pickups... it's like there are some standards... look a the dimensions of the hotrails an d compare it to your pup... then you'll see ;)

Ah yes and... welcome to the Forums

Re: heres a question for the Hot Rails Pickup

It should work...besides, there is always the return policy.

"The Seymour Duncan Company is highly dedicated to its customers and their tonal needs. The twenty-one day "no questions asked" return policy, which is available in the U.S. and select countries guarantees that you find the perfect pickup for your guitar, even if it isn't on your first try!"
Why Choose SD

Re: heres a question for the Hot Rails Pickup

I'm assuming its in the middle position that you want to swop out your single coil for the hotrails. That guitar will certainly be a potent weapon! Probably no smooth jazzy runs demanded... rock on!

Re: heres a question for the Hot Rails Pickup

I have a hot rails in the middle position of my Predator. It's not going to be exactly like your Jackson, but it sounds good. It was a little bass heavy on mine until I backed it away from the strings a little (probably closer to the recommended height!).

Welcome to the forum!

Re: heres a question for the Hot Rails Pickup

If it´s an early Ontario Jackson or a Charvel Model Series (or even a pre-´94 Professional Jackson), you´ll have to file off the "nose" that holds the wiring...on newer jacksons, it should fit with no problems.

Have fun and Rock on :headbang:

Re: heres a question for the Hot Rails Pickup

(we should have known that Tim would have the answer to ANY Jackson question)

Hope you enjoy it, bro!

Re: heres a question for the Hot Rails Pickup

And what´s funny is, I don´t search the DUncan Forum for Jackson or the JCF for Duncan, but somehow I almost always manage to see the threads, no matter how little I think I could add by the title :D:D

Re: heres a question for the Hot Rails Pickup

I bought a Seymour Duncan Hot Rails from the ebay. its white in color. It does not say 'Seymour Duncan' on it. Am I buying a real one or a fake ? Is any of your hot rails white in color and does not have the company logo on them ?

thanks

Re: heres a question for the Hot Rails Pickup

I even saw one hotrail in zebra!
Hotrails arein black and white - (it would be senseless if it wouldn't be avaiable in white, because it's meant for strats) and till the mid 90's (i think so?) ALL Duncans have been WITHOUT Logo.
You should look at the colours of the wire (green, black, white, red).

Re: heres a question for the Hot Rails Pickup

Ya know, I've never used one, but I find this pickup to be quite rude. Jackson Guitars Rule asked it a question nearly a week ago, and it has yet to reply! :smack:
