lol thats awesome!!! i thought about baking the strat in the oven but didnt since it's a three piece body.

Re: here's pics of a strat i relic-ed

I saw that one on eBay and knew I had to have one without the inflated relic'd price. So I took some proactive steps and came out with a beauty!

Re: here's pics of a strat i relic-ed

i dont understand why people do this to guitars?? i mean dont get me wrong, i love a good relic, but the only way this should be done is by nature itself, and it shouldnt be rushed. some people that relic their guitars do amazing jobs, but they usually base it from pictures of a guitar that got relic'ed over time, and i mean some of them are really KICK ASS!!! but you really have to know what youre doing.

Re: here's pics of a strat i relic-ed

I may be weird but I much prefer a guitar that still has the finish on it, unless I've made it otherwise by playing it over the years. Glad you're happy with your axe though :).

Re: here's pics of a strat i relic-ed

well to each his own. I did it becuase after trying several (7) set's of pickups while each made different thier own charistic improvement and a different neck (made a big difference) the tone was still lacking something so being the tone freak & guitar nerd i am and learning thing's of such nature i felt the polyurethane that was on it had to GO!

I can understand that, and I'll admit this is certainly more creative than just slathering on the paint thinner :laugh2:.

Good for you! Its your guitar. If you like it, I like it. Have a blast. Ignore all criticism which is undoubtedly on its way anyone posts something about a relic job. Later days.

thank 's Avatar and thunder comment's of any kind are welcome. i ll take a tele over a strat N E Day I just needed a good sounding strat for sessions.

Re: here's pics of a strat i relic-ed

looks like it used to be one hell of a beautiful guitar, but if you like it better now, good thats FANTASTIC for you!!

Re: here's pics of a strat i relic-ed

Does it resonate better? Also, are you considering sanding all of the finish off?

I agree completely. I'd like to own a relic'd strat AND a relic'd Les Paul someday. I'm thinking of sending my LP Standard off to RS to get relic'd.

I had to click on the pic's and log in again to view them. Or, right click on the box, select properties, copy the url and paste it into your browser. Then log on again. Never had to do that before, but it worked.
