Ok, this is real simple, if you compare it to a normal Strat.
Normal Strat on the top pic, 50's mod on the bottom:
You can see how simple the wiring mod is. (Thanks again, Lew.)
The red wire shows where you remove the wire going from one side of the 5-way, from the other side, and run it direct to the volume control.
Then, just run that same terminal to the middle of the volume control.
Also, note the blue pointer. Thats where you decide which tone control affects which switch position. I left it in "stock" Strat positions, but you can use any two of those terminals that you want.

Artie, that's beautiful! I think this is vault material for sure. I don't think this has ever been shown so clearly, and as far as know we're the first to have discovered this particular wiring tweak. I emailed SD a hand drawn version about a year ago so it could be included in the SD wiring diagrams but for whatever reason the picture didn't go through. I called it Lew's Strat Mod at the time.
