Hey Im new - to the world of pickups. Looks a great forum cant wait!

I want to replace the neck of my SSS american strat. I like that warm jazzy tone. Any suggestions? :)

Warm and Jazzy in a single coil Strat pickup? Personally I prefer the SSL-1 or Antiquity Surfer...but those are bright vintage sounding Strat pickups.

Warmer would be the APS-1 or 2 or the Antiquity Texas Hot.

The APS's in my strat can do a reasonable Jazz tone. Another option might be something like the Cool Rails set. They'll be a bit hotter and thicker than regular singles and will sound more like a humbucker.

Maybe I don't mean warm....

I still want that "punch" if you dig in. (A bit) like "Under The Bridge" by RHCP. but sorta jazzier and deeper.

Does that make sence?

Thanks

OK, got it. That's not exactly a jazzy tone in my mind, but it is very nice. I stand by the APS set. You will also need a full sounding clean amp and a compressor pedal. Start by compressing the signal quite a bit and adjusting the attack to taste. This should get you all over that particular sound. :burnout:
