High End Reverbs

Re: High End Reverbs

Have to agree with Aceman. When I saw the thread title, I thought of processors like a Lexicon PCM or Eventide Eclipse/H8000/Orville. There may be expensive pedals out there and Strymons (and similar) may sound great, but they don't even scratch the surface of what a true high-end reverb does.

The Eventide Space is designed around the Eventide Eclipse/H8000 algorithms. It sounds just as good as the rack units. The big difference is you are paying $500 instead of $5,000

Re: High End Reverbs

what were the crazy reverb plates some guys were trying to gig with on tour in the 80's-EMT plates or something? I cant remember but pedals are much cheaper and some amp makers are even going with digital reverb claiming in some applications its easier for the guitarist to use. I love Fender cleans with reverb from their reverb tanks but some pedals or rack units really hit the mark and have a tone all their own and its not a bad tone either like the Strymon Flint.

Re: High End Reverbs

I'm getting a midi controller tonight, a reverb with my next paycheck, and then I am done. I might get an EP booster but that would be it.

Re: High End Reverbs

And don't even get me going on the ultra-awesome tube driven mojo of the Peavey Valverb….

Re: High End Reverbs

My next reverb will be a Hardwire Supernatural.

Or a Strymon BlueSky. But I'm not sure if I want to be one of those guys with three Strymon pedals.

No offense, AJ.

Got the Bluesky reverb, and couple rack-mounted reverb unit,

They're good for any amp without a reverb tank, but,no matter how "high end" a reverb unit or pedal is,

NOTHING even come close to a built-in spring reverb.

That's all well and good, but I don't like spring reverb. Plate is where it's at for me.

Re: High End Reverbs

If your into Spring Reverb nothing beats the reverb built into the Fender amps. With that being said Boss tried to recreate it in this pedal which I have used and thought it was pretty nice.

They also have a Digital reverb that I think sounds as good as any other higher end pedal I have tried out.

I've also tried out the Line 6 model but I hated the way it sounded so fake, really annoying sounding effects they have, I don't like any of them but you might.

But if you must have the absolute best in Reverb , look no further then right here.

Re: High End Reverbs

I say the Valverb will at LEAST take any Fender unit as equal in a head to head.

But we have never defined "high end" here….

I personally think that between Grail/Zilla you should have all the reverb you could need want….

Or, kick it up to a TC unit or something.

After that, ok - maybe a few uber-pedals….but at that price I think I can get a rack mount that will kick pedal @$$ with presets, multiple algorithms, extensive parameter editing, you name it.

And for the best, just get the Peavey Valverb; Godly reverb AND kick @$$ Tremolo AND Tubes. It WINS!

Re: High End Reverbs

That’s odd, I have a TC HOF and never had any problems with it.

I use it via the amps’ effect’s loop and leave it on all the time!
