High pass filter question.

Hi all,
I had replaced pups on an Ibanez JS100 with a Dimarzio PAF & mo Joe,hoping to get the real sound/harmonics of the JS 1200.But it really doesn't sound as powerful as a JS1200. The luthier just did a straight swap of the pups.I am wondering if I need to do add something to the volume pots or anything else. The JS1200 uses a high pass filter on the vol pot.I'm not sure what this is.Do I need to add this or do I already have it on my JS100 which comes with a push/pull tone control for coil splitting options.
Here is the JS 100 http://www.ibanez.co.jp/products/eg...&cat_id=1&series_id=18&data_id=129&color=CL01
JS1200

Your tips on this would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Re: High pass filter question.

A high-pass filter lets high frequencies pass through while removing bass starting at a particular corner frequency of the bass.

Re: High pass filter question.

The idea behind the Treble Bleed on the volume pot is to prevent the very highest frequencies being lost as the volume control is turned down towards zero.

Adding this and the highest quality control electronic parts to a JS100 still would not transform it into a JS1200. Sorry.
