High pitched feedback coming from bridge pickup

i recently got the duncan mayhem set installed on my guitar, but im having alot of feedback problems coming from the bridge pickup, it's like a very high pitched screech which i haven't experienced before with my stock bridge pickup. I took the guitar to a local shop for them to install the pickups so i dont think that they wired it incorrectly, but it's always a possibility. I also noticed that the pickup is very close to the strings, but i like the action they way it is, so would lowering the pickup height fix the problem? if so please give me a simple explanation on how do so, because im mentally challenged when it comes to technical stuff. I checked for faulty cables but haven't found anything suspicious yet so i dont think its the cables fault, im using a noise gate which is built in my amp(line 6 spider) and i even tried moving away from the amp but i still recieve the same amount of feedback which is killing me!! please help lol :p

Does the squeeling pickup have a metal cover?

Turn the middle screws counter clockwise to lower the pickup. I usually just eyeball it and enough to make sure the pickup is at least a few millimeters lower than my heaviest palm muted strings. If that doesn't help with the squealing let us know.

it worked!! i lowered both sides and now i get zero feedback tyvm:D

When I had an alnico 8 in my bridge pickup, it squealed like hell. When I stuck a degaussed A5 in there, I get almost no squeal unless the volume is insane. The magnet power and its influence on the strings must have some play in the issue.
