HLK; Revisited

So, I saw there was a thread about a year ago regarding HardLuck Kings guitars.

I'm curious, if a year later there are people here who now have experience with this brand.

I ask because I really enjoy finding the value in mid-range and budget guitars, but some brands I just can't put my hands on in a store. I have very specific ideas about what I like in a V, and the "Outlaw" V model in the $300 price range would really be in my wheel-house, so long as it is in the basic quality level I have seen of my guitars in that price range (Epi Dot Studio, Squier Hot Rails Strat, Streling by MM SUB AX4).

I await your wisdom, friends!

82 views and not a single reply. I guess that means that HLK gets no love around here.

Thanks for reading everyone.

Re: HLK; Revisited

I see their ads all the time. A lot of their guitars have that uncanny-valley sort of look where they're just off enough in shape to really look wrong to me. They try to hide it in a lot of their promo shots with the angles used and everything I think.

I've been interested in a cheap Explorer for awhile, and I keep looking at theirs and thinking it looks like a Bizarro Explorer.
