Hmm 59/Custom Hybrid or Jason Becker decisions decisions?

Have the 1992 Washburn USA that i picked up a while back but not crazy about the bridge tones.

Has Duncans in it 59 neck Custom middle that became the SSL6 don't know yet what is in the bridge. Should be a JB or PG but what ever it is in this guitar it just sounds bland.
Looking for more life and versatility. Have a 59 Custom Hybrid in my Modern Player tele and love it but was thinking of also dropping one in my 1995 MG 120 with the SSL-1's for a little more open tone than the JB that's in it now. Would like some thing a little different for the MG 102 so thinking about the Perpetual Burn. Biggest question is harmonics and how the PB taps. Anybody got some input here?

My 59/Cust, in a chambered basswood Strat, bridge position, is loud, balanced, with a much needed mid/upper mid boost.
It is clean, with a big push to the front of my Hot Rod Deluxe that gets it into the "dirty zone".
It cleans up really well for a p'up with an 11.5 K or so resistence. That is a good thing for me. I use a V.Lab Sparkle and a JHRockett Archer to give me a strong base. If I need more grit or dirt/high end, I step on "The Dude" Dumble like clean overdrive.
From what I've read, the Perpetual Burn starts out "dirtier" but with nice highs, not too ice picky in the eardrums. I have read it is highly underrated with a misleading name.
I believe from what I've read this would be a better p'up for pinch harmonics with less pedals needed. A pushed amp and a grit type pedal of your choosing. I am sure you can get the 4 wire version for "taps" if it doesn't come that way.
I hope I haven't wasted your time.

I'd go for the Perpetual Burn in your attractive Washburn, but I am a Jason Becker fan so my opinion is probably subjective.
Harmonic content should'nt be a problem with the PB I guess (have not tried one unfortunately).
BUT: if you don't like the JB, you may not like the PB either, was the JB not the starting point in development of the PB?

I believe the perpetual burn was designed to be a JB without the upper midrange spike.

You won't have any problem with harmonics on the PB. However, one of my favorite pickups ever is the Hybrid. It just does many things so well. With it, you get an amazing clean & split sound. The PB is a great pickup for hard rock, but that might be all you need.

Have a Hybrid in my MIC pine body Modern player Tele so know them well. Have never played a PB so it's the unknown. The bridge pickup in the Washburn just sounds flat and weak for some reason. Owned a number of these guitars and this particular one just doesn't have any life to the tone. Want something more open and less compressed than a JB in this particular guitar as have JB's in 2 other MG Washy's. Also want a pickup with a lot of harmonic character and some heat. Alder body maple 24 fret neck and board with a Floyd. Wish I could play the PB as it looks really interesting for this one but also love the way harmonics just explode out of the Hybrid in my Tele + the way it taps so well. Question is do I want different or another Hybrid??
