HOK paint?

Has anybody used it? How does it stack up to all others? Is it durable, easy to spray, does it go on thin? Give me you thoughts.

I am at painting stage for my first time and I want all the info I can get. HOK has really grabbed my eye due to so many color options but not my full attention due to my lack of knowledge.

It will be on ash wood grain filled, S&S and a primer coat.

Re: HOK paint?

HOK can get pricey and to get those cool colors you need various layers/colors/steps most times. i have the color books here for there whole line and they have some crazy stuff! HOK is some of the best paint in the automotive/motorcycle world and used by many custom car/cycle builders and customizers. HOK is a company where you get what you pay for, the prices are high at times but the quality is great. my friends car is painted HOK burple and another friend has a candy orange street bike and i've seen tons more candy and flamed etc HOK painted cars and motorcycles over the years. some amazing colors. ever since i got the books i have thought about doing several guitars with their paint but never did i just keep using it for car stuff. i say go for it you'll get colors from HOK you will NEVER see anywhere else! i can't say how it sprays though since i don't do my own paint work, my body shop does but he never complains and seems to love the stuff.

Re: HOK paint?

So if I use it can I call it an XSSIVE paint job?

I got my bride on there web site and she got all excited about all the colors. She pants with oil base on canvases. So I rely on her input due to her artistic ability for body shapes and paint schemes. I also bought an airbrush to due some painting on the smaller parts of different colors on this guitar. Knowing that she would like to play with it due to her painting history. So hopefully between her and me we can turn out some A+ guitars.
